School bus safety week is October 17 to 21, 2016.

Theme for 2016: STOP ON RED

School districts across Florida and throughout the country are participating in the School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest. We are excited about your district’s involvement in this worthy safety awareness program. There is State and National level judging, offering prizes to winners in each Division.

Who May Enter? Any Florida County School District traditional public school and charter school students in grades Kindergarten through 8th and special education students.

What to Do: Students should use their creative skills to illustrate the poster contest theme by freehand drawing on an 11” X 17” or 12” X 18” quality paper or poster board using crayons or felt pens. Note: There is also a division for Computer Aided Drawing (CAD).

Where: This contest was designed to coincide with art class while students are at school; however, it could be assigned as homework or a classroom project as well.

When: Schools should start immediately with a completion date of May, 2016. Posters should be received no later than June 1, 2016. NOTE: See rules and guidelines for more information.
