We are proud to announce that in the 2017-18 school year, participation in the Sun State Bus Centers online learning system and award program was at an all-time high.
Twenty-nine technicians received LMS-certified hats for five or more course completions for the education year.
The top three districts with the highest average number of course completions per techs registered were Lee County Schools, Pinellas County Schools and Escambia County School District, each receiving an award plaque and two full scholarships to IC University at the IC Bus assembly plant in Tulsa, Okla.
The Pursuit of Knowledge Award for 50 or more lifetime course completions was proudly presented to Roy Williams of Wakulla County Schools and Jason Wilson of Lee County Schools. Jason and Roy join an elite group of eight technicians that currently hold this distinction state-wide. Congratulations and special thanks to these technicians for their hard work and commitment to professional development and the safety of Florida’s students and drivers.
Online dealer level training is just one way Sun State Bus Centers and IC Bus are committed to our customers. We are also committed to change and improvement in the products we offer and the services we provide. We always asking the question, “how do we improve the safety of operation and/or improve driver, rider, technician and owner experience?”
We continue to look ahead with standard features such as best-in-class driver ergonomics, 36-inch entry with full-width steps, high-output alternator, OnCommand Connection link that provides automated health reports via Wi-Fi connection, allowing you to better track the condition of your fleet and enhance your ability to stay ahead of maintenance, propane and gasoline engine offerings and the many other features that already make IC the better choice.
Looking forward, there is more to come, including electronic stability control and advanced collision mitigation systems, 360-degree camera systems and OnCommand telematics solutions for live time tracking of the health, location and operation of your fleet. “Charge” the electric-powered bus with next generation instrumentation and driver controls and continued expansion of Sun State Bus Centers’ 17 full-service parts and service locations with additional mobile services. For more information about Sun State Bus Centers and IC Bus training opportunities, products or support, please visit us at sunstatebuscenters.com or contact Jamie Gray, Margaret Holland or James Powers at (800) 741-7566.
