It’s not too late to register to attend the 70th Annual FAPT Summer Conference and Trade Show.

The event starts on July 8 and wraps up at noon on July 11. Registration is being handled by the SESPTC Association staff through their online registration program. This year’s co-sponsored event promises to be packed with helpful information and tons of fun. Our 13 state counterparts throughout the southeast will be there, and we are looking forward to sharing and learning from each other.

While Florida has been a model in many areas of student transportation with much to offer, we also realize we will always have much to learn. This year’s agenda will feature presentations on timely topics such as responses to active shooters, human trafficking, working with millennials and recruiting techs and drivers.

For over 70 years, the FAPT has been focused on providing this opportunity for transportation staff across the state to exchange ideas, gain information and build relationships that will improve the safety of our buses and systems for students. One of the hallmarks of our association has always been the discussions at the end of the day that are often as productive as what we do from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thanks to our many sponsors and trade show exhibitors, we will have an outstanding opportunity to see and chat with representatives of the many products and services relevant to our industry. Professional growth from seeing new ideas and new ways of solving old puzzles is one of the many outcomes of our trade show.

Our venue, Saddlebrook Resort near Tampa, is well-positioned at the mid-point of Florida and is easily accessible from any direction you may be coming. Located in a nature preserve, the hotel offers a variety of rooms, including two-bedroom suites, one-bedroom suites and deluxe singles, all for the great cost of $139 per night. The suites have full-size refrigerators and mini-kitchens as added bonuses. Tennis, golf (two courses) and the lagoon pool are sure to be popular locations for our downtime. If you have not reserved your room, do so now.

Please be sure to stay informed on the conference by visiting our website at www.faptflorida.org as we update the full agenda.
