Running big tires (33\+) and lockers on your Jeep or solid axle truck? You're probably stressing your front axle u-joints (like the common Spicer 5-760X) to the breaking point. The problem is the axle shaft 'ears' flex, oval out, and can spit the u-joint cap out, destroying your axle. Iron Rock's 'Almost Alloy' kit is the solution: it's a set of small steel plates you weld right over the u-joint caps. This plates reinforce the ears, prevent flex, and trap the caps so they can't come out. It makes your stock shafts way stronger, basically turning failure-proof until the u-joint itself breaks. Fits many Jeeps (XJ, TJ, etc.) with D30/D44 axles and some Chevy/Ford/Dodge solid axles. Requires welding and we recommend installing a new u-joint at the same time. A relatively cheap insurance policy against a very expensive trail break!
