Got a check engine light on your 2001-2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, maybe for an EVAP system small leak? This little part could be the culprit. It's the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid (also called a purge valve or vent valve). Its job is to control fumes from the gas tank. When it fails, it can cause that annoying light and maybe even a failed emissions test. This is a direct-fit replacement, part number PG-1744166. It's made to the same specs as the original, so it should plug right into your car's wiring harness and mount in the same spot – no modifications needed. The seller, Sawyer Auto, says they use good materials and test their parts, aiming for better durability than some OEM ones. If you're handy with basic tools and can locate the old solenoid (usually near the charcoal canister in the rear or engine bay), swapping it is a pretty straightforward job. Just disconnect the battery first, swap the electrical connector and vacuum lines over, and bolt the new one in. A much cheaper fix than taking it to the dealer. Just make sure your Grand Prix is from those model years (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006) before you order.
