This VALTERRA inlet hatch is a replacement part for your RV's fresh water system. It serves a dual purpose: you can use it as a gravity fill (pour water from a jug into the opening) or connect a city water hose directly to the 1/2-inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection inside. The hatch itself is lockable, which is a nice security feature when you're away from the camper. It's made from UV-stabilized white plastic that you can paint to match your RV if needed. It includes a 1/2-inch air vent to help water flow in quickly without gurgling. The kit comes with installation screws, putty tape, and PTFE thread tape. The cutout you need in your RV's wall is 5-7/8\ wide by 4-3/4\ high; the outer dimensions of the hatch are 7-5/8\ wide by 6-1/2\ high.
