Brief description of the position:

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) was established in 1885 with support of the State of Florida and private contributions. Based in St. Augustine, we are recognized as one of the top schools for the deaf and blind in the nation and the only one of its kind in Florida.  FSDB is a state agency and operates as it’s own school district under the Florida Department of Education.  FSDB is a fully accredited, tuition-free state public school for eligible Pre-K and K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, or deafblind.

Clerk-Typist-12-month

This is REPLACEMENT position that performs basic clerical duties; including Payroll timekeeping, fielding inbound calls, and face-to-face customer service to parents and staff.

Senior Programmer

This is a NEW position that will be responsible for assisting in writing/modifying and maintaining application programs associated with K12 transportation. MS SQL experience and troubleshooting skills are essential. Focus School Software experience a plus. This position is responsible for assisting Analysts/Programmers in writing/modifying application programs and providing technical assistance to schools and/or sections within the district as required.

Technology Technician

This is a NEW position that will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting technology at the local and district level. This role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, Remote Access, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

FTE (FEFP) Specialist

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in progressively more responsible positions in school transportation, municipal/military/governmental operations in a large fleet operation, or in the field of logistics/supply Demonstrated skills and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications. Demonstrated ability to use commonly available office software applications (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).

Preferred:

Second level or higher supervisory experience in transportation, logistics or supply-chain (school district, public or contractor) related field. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Three (3) years of first level/front line supervisory responsibility.
